This can include a variety of mediums, using approved color palettes, fonts, layouts and so forth. A logo identifies an organization in its simplest form via the use of a mark or icon. A logo is not your brand, nor is it your identity. Logo design, identity design and branding all have different roles, that together, form a perceived image for an organization.

All occurrences on promotional items must have the appropriate symbol. The University name and logos cannot be modified or changed in any way and shall not be used in any manner, which may be considered disparaging or negative. The Bell Tower logo is the primary symbol of the university and must be used by all colleges, departments and programs. The logo must be the dominant mark on all publications, websites and other forms of communication for easy recognition.

The Javelina is the secondary spirit mark for the university and is used when a more informal look is desired and should never be used with other university logos. This is a recurring annual fee that is occasionally used when it is difficult to determine a basis for royalties.

Making developmental milestones a part of the license agreements helps to define what is expected of the commercial partner in taking the technology forward. These fees are paid on sales of the licensed technology.

They may be calculated as a percentage of sales or on a per-unit basis. Any actual royalties paid count toward the minimum annual payment. These minimums are designed to encourage the continued development and marketing of the technology by the licensee, with the expectation that true royalties will far exceed the minimum annual consideration.
